The Citadel team was due to undertake our biennial sponsored walk this year to raise funds for our nominated charity, Devon Freewheelers, who provide an urgent out of hours courier and transport service free of charge to NHS establishments, medical surgeries and both Devon and Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance services.
We had planned the walk for this May and were in the process of selecting the route and making all the arrangements when we received some exciting news!
We have been working towards going directly regulated with the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) for many months (years) in order to have more control over our direction of travel, processes and outputs to our clients; to ensure we continue to evolve and improve our service to clients. We are pleased to announce that we have recently been given approval and will therefore be directly regulated from 15th April!
As a result, we have decided to postpone the sponsored walk until the autumn this year or spring of 2027 as our focus for the next few months will be on ensuring there is no disruption to our service to clients whilst we implement the administrative changes.
In the interim, we were pleased to make a donation to Devon Freewheelers this week and we’re looking forward to rescheduling the walk over the coming months and, with your support, raising money for the team so they can continue to provide this invaluable service to the community. We will of course share the details with you here when we can!
