CITADEL NEWS &

IN THE COMMUNITY

We are proud sponsors of Honiton Youth Rugby

Helping Out

At Citadel we are keen to give back to the community, support local charities and make a difference. We have previously had a long-term relationship with TOG (Taunton Opportunities Group) raising many thousands of pounds for them, through our regular challenges. We have also sponsored North Devon Cricket Club.

Following consultation with our team we have made the decision to support Devon Freewheelers as our nominated charity supporting them through our regular fundraising events and by donations. We will also be sponsoring Honiton Rugby Club under 13’s going forwards.

Devon Freewheelers operate within our communities to provide an urgent out of hours courier and transport service free of charge to NHS establishments, medical surgeries and both Devon and Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance services.

The charity has been running since 2009 and maintains a fleet of bikes and cars to enable them to provide this valuable service to those in need regardless of the location and weather!  The riders are all volunteers (many of whom have their own personal stories behind their decision to support the charity) who courier whole blood, blood samples and medical swabs for testing as well as emergency medication, equipment and donor breast milk for premature babies.

Russell and Vikki who manage the riders, the charity finances and co-ordinate the workflow are passionate about the charity and their role in giving something back to the people of Devon and the surrounding areas.
